Editor and Writer- Jason McDonald (AKA Sam Hain)
Hi there!
Thanks for visiting Halloween Blues, I find your interest in my site to be refreshing and I think you're a better person for having been here.
My name is Jason and I run this place. I'm the Editor in Chief and the Janitor. I write the stories and I attempt to make the blog look nice with my limited computer skills. Basically I do it all. Not because I'm some sort of egomaniac, but because I want Halloween Blues to live or die by my hand. If this thing eventually self-implodes, I want everyone to know it was my fault.
Well, I guess I shouldn't say I do it all. I get by with a little help from my friends. They don't really appear anywhere on this site, but they are there. A lot of the videos and photographs you see here were taken by them and they do accompany me to events and movies and help inform the opinions you see on this site. So they deserve a bit of credit.
If you've been coming to this site for years you might be wondering who Jason is and what happened to Sam Hain. I have a secret, we are one and the same. I wrote under the pseudonym of Sam Hain to keep my identity separate from this website. However, I've come to learn that companies and people are less willing to trust a crazy man who hides behind the image of a pumpkin. So here I am, exposed to the world.
Halloween Blues probably seems like a site that has no direction or focus, but that couldn't be further from the truth. The site is all about me! Well, not really, but my interests inform what goes into this site. I'm fascinated by the world of video games, horror movies, Halloween and the supernatural. Obviously a one man writing team can't cover every aspect of that so I narrow my focus even further by writing on projects that I have a passion or interest in.
Essentially, I don't write about every horror movie, but I do write about the ones that actually matter to me. That's not to be dismissive of other projects, but I just find that if I'm going to work on this site it's better to write about things that I like. So this isn't your one stop place for news and information, but it is a great place to find news with a more personal touch. I'll attempt to inform you while also giving you a bit of my opinion on the matter.
The beauty of this site is that it's always evolving and growing. If you looked at this place four years ago, you wouldn't recognize it. As my interests and experiences expand and grow, so does the site. So come with us on this journey through the strange and bizarre and let's see where the road takes us.
