This is a bit complex, but the basic gist of it is that Trike on the NeoGaf forums was playing around with his new Wii U when he accidentally broke everything and wound up in some sort of debug menu which led him to discovering a subsection filled with Admin forums discussing a huge game announcement on December 10th and possibly some new games that have yet to be announced.
Among the list of titles mentioned (and of particular interest to us) was Resident Evil. Or, more specifically, Resident Evils. Plural? More than one RE game? It could be nothing and at this point we only have a screenshot to go on, but jumping to conclusions is always fun. Just take a deep breath and let's make a magical leap over the cavern of bullshit and see where we land.
Is there a Resident Evil Wii U game in our future? I think there is, but I have a strong suspicion that it'll simply be a port of Resident Evil 6. Capcom has had a pretty good relationship with Nintendo when it comes to RE games, but I think it's too early in the system's life for a brand new game. In fact, it's entirely possible that the Wii U could get that Resident Evil 5 port that was kept off the original Wii. Given how old RE5 is, it would be smart on Capcom's part to offer a RE5/6 combo pack.
